The Problem
The logistics team was tracking every shipment by hand. As volume grew, the cracks became impossible to ignore.
Shipment status was scattered across shared spreadsheets. With no shared reference, staff regularly duplicated entries for shipments that were already logged.
Managers had no way to see what was pending approval. Getting a status update meant chasing someone down directly, usually over WhatsApp.
When a shipment went wrong, there was no record of who changed what, or when. Resolving a dispute meant guesswork, not evidence.
The Approach
We built an internal dashboard on ASP.NET Core and SQL Server, structured around three roles so the right person can do the right thing — and nothing gets lost in the process.
Three permission tiers keep the workflow honest: staff log shipments, managers approve or reject them, and admins manage user accounts.
Every status change writes to an audit log, creating a permanent, timestamped record of exactly what happened and who did it.
SignalR pushes status changes to every connected client instantly, so the whole team sees the same state without refreshing the page.
Managers can generate an Excel or PDF report of any shipment view in a single click, ready to hand to stakeholders.
The Result
Spreadsheet chaos gave way to one shared, always-current view of shipment status across the whole team.
Managers work through a clear approval queue instead of chasing status updates over WhatsApp.
The audit trail turns "who changed this?" from a guessing game into a lookup.
